Bible Cover
Description
A friend asked if I would redo his wife’s sister’s bible cover. At first sight, this bible has seen some stuff.
This has been the most challenging bible cover rework done so far.
It started with a bible looking like this:

The rework included removing the old cover, ironing every page (yes, over 1000 of them) to get rid of the folds and wrinkles, re-glue the spine and redoing the glued-on cover. To add to the long process, the brother-in-law got the surname wrong and I had to redo the glued-on cover a second time…
Using Trotec’s range of two-tone laserable synthetic leathers, this cover was engraved, cut and then hand-stitched. The range of colours available from Trotec is quite nice and affordable in comparison to real leather.
All these synthetic leathers are available from https://www.engraving-supplies.co.za/laser-materials/laserleather.html
Colours available (dependent on supplier stock):
Brown with Black Engraving
Brown with Orange Engraving
Burgundy with Red Engraving
